as others have noted, while the basics of contract law are similar across the states, each state is different in specifics...also, each state can create liability 'carveouts'...for example, in Texas there is a specific statute protecting roller-skating rinks from liability for injury...might be something similar wherever OP bought...there could well be a statute shielding a retail seller from liability for hidden damages provided the dealer disclosed the fact that the vehicle had been subject to a hailstorm or something

Word of caution...as several noted...before taking a firm 'I'll just not pay' stance or convincing yourself that you can avoid the issue merely by not taking delivery, get legal counsel (this coming from a lawyer)...don't need to find the local version of Alan Dershowitz, but would need someone with a working knowledge of contracts and vehicle purchases IN THE STATE OF THE TRANSACTION

generic advice is fine as far as it goes...but wouldn't want to to get caught up in a particular action only to find out too late it either didn't achieve your goal and/or created more problems for you

That estimate is no doubt for entire roof replacement.
Several years ago we had a large limb destroy the roof of our trailer.....$11K to replace.

Can you give any more information? Sounds like you bought the trailer knowing it had been damaged.

What else was damaged? That seems like a really high estimate for just replacing 2 skylights and an AC cover.

What about bringing it to another RV repair place?

Sure would like to know some more details on this... If you never took actually took possession, the odds are in your favor somewhat. Did you sign the title transfer paperwork, or did you simply give them a check for the balance? Without closing the deal contractually, it's still their trailer.

BTW, punctuation matters. Did you actually purchase *after* a hail storm or did you purchase and then shortly after there was a hail storm?

Sorry, I miss typed. it was 30% of MSRP, so, 70% off... which kind of points to the profit margin.

Free advice is exactly that--free. I would contact my friendly attorney and pay for an hour of their time.

Most commercial contracts require 4 things:
1. Offer
2. Acceptance
3. Consideration
4. Delivery

If you did not take delivery, then the contract may not be complete.

You really didn't give us ALL of the details.
When you bought the damaged TT, did you ASK the dealer for a quote to repair?
Did you take the TT off the lot or not?
What does your contract say re the damages?

Please tell us the rest of the facts.

When I read it he said he purchased the trailer after the hail storm. I would talk to the dealer about what else he is going to fix.

He did not say "30% off". He said "30% of MSRP".

I think you need to have a talk with the dealer. Was all the damage disclosed at the time of sale, or did they say it only needed then3 things?
