Good and bad experiences

We had excellent Good Sam service a couple of years ago when we blew out three tires in five days. They provided what I would consider "speedy" service even though one of the blowouts was out in the boondocks.

However, our last need for service left us less than impressed. Last year, we were only a few miles from home after four months on the road and we got a flat. We were able to pull into a rest area on I-4 on the outskirts of Orlando and called for service. Good Sam said they would send someone within two hours. Almost two hours later, they called to see how the service was. What service? No one had showed up. Good Sam called the provider again and then called us back and said the provider wasn't answering the phone and Good Sam wasn't sure they could get someone out to us as it was after 5:00 p.m. A big city with lots of providers and they "weren't sure" they can get someone out? Not good, not good at all. Luckily, just then the Road Rangers truck showed up and changed our tire quickly and for free. Kudos to Road Rangers.....hisses to Good Sam. That said, we'll still renew our service membership based on three good services and only one bad.

  • How often do you review the service providers? I can understand some can be a small operation where the tow driver is also the shop wrench turner and can't leave the shop right away, but to say they can do the road service and then not do it is just wrong.

Does GS have any recourse to get them to just be honest if they can provide the service or not.

Any way we can leave a review about the service company? I leave a review on RVservice reviews for just about every thing that I get done trailer wise. But a place to list just the GS service providers would be nice.

    jamarynn1,

I apologize for the inconvenience and hassles on your latest flat tire. The next time dispatch states they are unable to provide service within a timely manner, call member services/customer service and let us know as well. We will call over there for you and verify the reason for the delay or see if we can possibly go outside the network to serve you better and faster. In an instance like this, the service providers GS would normally used may have been unavailable serving other customers. Member services is open 24/7 for this purpose: 1-800-234-3450.

If you have any questions or further concerns, please call member services as well. Thank you for your membership with GSRA.
