Good sam Extended coverage

I am a long term reader , never a POSTER ,Like to read ! I purchased a RV from A consignment company in Phenix AZ in February of 2018 with a Good Sam RV insurance extended coverage policy . It is a 2006 Holiday Rambler Navigator 45 PDQ with just over 21000 miles on it at purchase. I purchased their diamond coverage Good Sam coverage with only a $100 deductible. It was suppose to cover basically all problems for a total of $5557 on 02/02/2018.Unlimited mileage. It was suppose to cover for 48 months from the time when RV and policy was purchased. RV had a air conditioner fail last week , as well as chassis air conditioner hose fail . RV was brought to a reputable RV service company in Forest Lake MN . It was explained to company owner about RV coverage policy , and the need to contact insurance with claim , problem and to get authorization for repair. He did , called and talked to a man with the name of Jeremy. The repair facility owner states he was told the repair order estimate looks fine for replacement of AC on roof and estimate of chassis AC repair with the exception of cost of AC high pressure hose. The owner of the repair facility stated he did not know the cost of hose because NAPA had to build it and he was suppose to call them with cost . Next day he did and spoke with a representative by the name of Adam .Owner of repair facility told him the hose cost was $210.00 . Adam states nothing is reimbursed because it was not preauthorized , yet The person by the name of Jeremy stated to repair facility everything looks fine on estimate sent , with exception of hose price. NOW I AM SITTING HERE WITH REPAIR COMPANY BILL OF 3685.45.Repair Insurance purchased from Good Sam is denying claim and repair facility is wanting $ or they will not release RV for a legitimate claim that the owner of RV repair facility says he got approved. Sitting here do not understand , is this how this company works? Anybody deal with this , What should I do , I did nothing wrong! Contract was given to repair facility .

  • After reading all the reviews and complaints about towing claims being denied and people sitting on the road for hours and hours and finding no one had actually called the tow company, I wouldn't even take a chance at purchasing this. Good Sam does not have a good reputation as far as claims.
  • I dropped of RV , Told them the rule to call, gave them full contract , they did. Told by rep Jeremy according to repair facility, they were told everything looks fine needed price on hose , comes back at 210$ sounds about right I think , Next day Repair facility speeks with Good Sam to Adam all denied . Denied , now have Rv in service facility , Good Sam denies coverage? RV repair facility has 3685.45 bill to me will not release RV!
  • Been through it a couple of times. The process, as I understand it:
You call the phone # to make a claim, they give you options for a repair facility, if none near you, you pick one. Dealer/repair facility calls with an estimate of repairs and a parts list. They get approval. As far as I know that is it. Does not seem to be any simple process by the repair facility. Some parts are covered, some are not. You really need to read your agreement, it contains all the details. Generally, hoses, belts, brakes (wear items) are not covered.
    Good luck.
