- puttdExplorerSevere, severe problems. Wish I had seen this before I put money down with a letter commitment from them. My loan officer, Neika Garan, won't answer phone calls or emails. finally got a supervisor today and she informs me that Neika has been on vacation for at least a week. Asked if someone is covering Neika's correspondence and her response was, "I hope so." That was at noon. Still waiting to hear what the blankety blank they are doing to get the blankety blank loan closed. You would think that with such a large, national organization, associated with good sam, that this sort of garbage would be addressed. Worse, there is no way to call corporate.
UGGHHHHH! - bamaboy473ExplorerWe learned that GS/Essex do not offer financing in Alabama. Anybody know why?
Our financing went through Pen-Air CU, and was done within 30 minutes, in their offices. Great rate, good term, minimal paperwork (important if you don't have paycheck-type of income)
All local banks were 8% or more, Essex was 4.99 (if we could have had it), and so was RVFinancing.com. We are at 5.75% but for a longer term and much less paperwork. That allowed us to jump on the MH right away. We pick it up today.
New member here (obviously) and happy to be aboard. - Big_BlueExplorerEssex Credit is a mistake that tarnishes the reputation of Good Sams. NEVER AGAIN.

I realize this forum is run by GS, but it is the members who make the forum a place to visit to exchange information. Having said that, the GS Refi rate for me would be 4.12%, but the Costco rate for the same loan is 3.79%. I would have thought the GS rate would be lower considering GS would generate a higher volume of loans. I would like to see GS negotiate with Essex to try and get a discounted rate for us, the members. The GS rate is the same as non-GS folks, and considering we are dealing with the same Company, Essex, it can be done, at least Costco can do it. If you go through Costco you also get a $100 gift card, which would pay for your membership and also get you a better rate.
The rate has not changed for me, 3.79%, but my guess is they will charge the rate in the documents, otherwise they have to redraw the documents up and resend them out to you. It does not hurt to ask if they can give you the lower rate.
Well with this adventure simple question do tend to hurt, at least getting answers hurts . I will update this if I can get an answer from them on the rates. - UsualSuspectExplorerI realize this forum is run by GS, but it is the members who make the forum a place to visit to exchange information. I noticed the rate has dropped , we are suposed to get the lower rated will see what happens?Good luck. I will update this post as the process moves along.

Just an udate in case anyone was following this , it is 4/26/2013 and we got our fedex package with the paper work signed it and it is on the way back to them.
Must be coincidence, mine showed up on the door step this morning, signed, sealed, and on the way back. - DevocamperExplorerJust an udate in case anyone was following this , it is 4/26/2013 and we got our fedex package with the paper work signed it and it is on the way back to them.

Devocamper, it is not GS, but Essex. I tried to refi via Costco, who uses Essex, same experience, get approved, told it is good for 30 days, no one returns your emails after the approvals, answers the phone, or returns calls. Not sure how Essex stays open.
UsualSuspect--did you wait it out with costco and Essex or use someone else? We called again yesterday and my wife did get to speak to someone but the information was still not very clear, they gave us a payoff on the current loan which we already knew, your right I am not sure how they stay open with this poor service, they said the delay is because they have a lot of people taking advantage of the low rates? Not sure if I should wait them out or continue looking elsewhere? Hope your refinance worked out. I bet this thread gets closed pretty soon like the last one on this topic !!
Mike
I was still shopping as of yesterday. I had sent 3 emails after they approved the loan, and had left messages. My last voice mail yesterday to the Loan Officer was "I guess you are no longer interested in refinancing my rig since you are not returning calls or emails" with my name, app id, and phone number.
Yesterday just before 5 PM I received an email stating they would send me my loan packet on May 1st, and asked if I was financing the closing or paying it out of pocket. The payoff they gave is more than B of A gave me the day before, by about $503 dollars. The email starts off with due to the overwhelming demand for our loan products yada, yada, yada it was delayed. I am not sure if my voice mail finally made them move, or if it was coincidence.
I am letting Costco know I am not pleased with the lack of communication from Essex. If Essex would just take a minute to reply to an email, pickup the phone and answer it, or return my calls, I would be ok with a delay. Leaving folks with a you are approved, then not answering them makes you wonder how responsive they will be if an issue arises. The Essex I am dealing with shares an address and suite number with Bank of The West. My 5'er was financed through Bank of The West, and never had any issues with them, but I am wondering if maybe things have changed.
I think they sell the loans to the Bank of the West, the one time they did answer the phone we asked who would be holding the title and they said it would be held by Bank of the West. We are still waiting for the packet! At least you got a date we were told the packet would get to us by the week of 04/08/2013 so far as of 04/22/2013 nothing has come. - frac999ExplorerWell that's all interesting and thanks for the reply's
