I have had G.S insurance for 7 years and no claims. Includes house, 2 vehicles and RV. G.S., as said, is not an insurance company but subs to other insurance companies and most are with National Interstate. Home owners through G. S. is Monument Valley Indemnity.
I am currently shopping insurance and they are cheaper than A.A.R.P. and Hartford. I had Hartford for several years at a previous home and vehicles with one claim for hurricane damage and roof replacement. They were quick to send an adjuster and approve and pay the claim.
During my research I found that several companies depreciate the roof based on age and quoted me a cash value rather than replacement cost. Allstate was one so be careful on what you are quoted.
National Interstate has been consistently less money and good coverage but, I am ashamed to admit this, I did not do due diligence when buying from them. They have always provided coverage limits, I.E., deductible, limits on liability, comprehension etc. BUT they never broke it down by vehicle. When I asked specifically what I was paying for my RV they said $413.00 per 6 months. That is totally unacceptable. It made the overall premium vs. most all other insurances less but I will be checking vehicle coverage premiums with or without RV.
Edited. If you are buying a home owners I found that Hartford quotes a wind storm with 5% deductible. That can add up to quite a bit of out of pocket. I did not check on a 1 or 2% deductible. As rexlion said- Read the fine print.
