A friend of mine used Good Sam for roadside service. He had two low truck tires. Good Sam said that he had to pay $50 to have the second tire pumped up.
What the******is that?????

    Hello ken burke,

Thank you for your post. The coverage for tires with the Good Sam Roadside Assistance is to send someone out to change your tire using your inflated spare. If you need a tire delivered or a tire inflated there are parts and labor fees involved which are charged by the vendor. Thank you for your membership.

  • I wonder what the true story is?

I would never call somebody to air up my tires.

    Good Sam only replaces tires.

We had a flat in the campground. When we called Good Sam Jameil told us that no repair service is available. They would send a man out with a new tire. That was the only charge covered. We could buy the new tire from that person, installation was extra. The tire cost was quoted around $750 plus installation.
Nice people at the campground located and called a local tire service company. The gentleman came within 20 minutes, removed the roofing nail and repaired the puncture. Service tech told us they are frequently called by Good Sam to install new tires. He never understood why they didn't order repairs until we explained the policy.
Our tire repair cost $104 and we were on our way by 12:30.
  • he calls them every time he needs some air in his tires? Or was there a special reason for them suddenly being down?
If he's just using them for maint. purposes, he's abusing the service IMHO.
  • Makes no sense to charge for the second tires air. Unless the guy had a bicycle pump and charged by the hour.
  • I wonder what GS's response would have been if he had 2 blowouts. Only change one tire? Not good if that's the way they're going to operate.
