Twisted quandary on this one. Sure 2 or 3 times could just be bad luck and should probably not be considered excessive. 6 times seems a bit more telling and may be indicative of deeper rooted problems such as slipshod pre-rolling checks, failure to accomplish even rudimentary preventative maintenance or jury rigged fixes that are never actually corrected.
The trending indicates a continued loss with no hope of improvement on the customer's part so it is only logical to quickly cut that loss with a cancellation. With the disparities in the stories I also question the credibility of the charge of rudeness.
