Good Sams Roadside Assistance Renewal or lack of it!

I bought an older, 1996, Class C, Cobra Passport 31’ in March, 2014 with 42,000 miles. In April, we added Good Sams Roadside service. This April I did not get a renewal notice so I called. I got Mary Beth at the Denver office. It must have been her first day. After being put on hold twice in 10 minutes for 2 or 3 minutes each time, she told me I never should have been sold the contract since I was on the do not renew list. When questioned, she said in 1997, I had 4 claims, in 1998 I had 3 claims, in 1999 I had 3 claims & in 2000, I had 8 claims, there for no renewal. On this new policy it showed 1 claim for April 2014 - April 2015. She was adamant & indignant about no renewal. I tried to explain that I thought that I had been mixed up with someone else. Her response was if you don’t like it, write a letter. I asked for her supervisor. After 5 minutes or so more I got Jerry. Jerry was much nicer & much more personable. His first reaction was the same as Mary Beth so my obvious irritation rose. Finally he said he would check into my issue & forward it to someone who could help. They would get back to me later that day. That was 5 days ago & nothing yet! I think they have my name & or membership number mixed with someone else. The issues they are concerned with go back to 15 to 18 years ago & I do not think that was me. What do you think?
  • After the expiration date they will still fill your mail box with trash. If you call the answer will be the same. When I had a horse trailer with living quarters they wouldn't sell me GS ERS but they kept sending me trash mail about buying ERS. I think you will be better off with Coachnet. GS may be making more profits for their investors but Marcus detroyed CW and GS customer service.:(
  • I have coined a new term instead of "Good Sam" I now call it "Good Shame" Just call Coach Net a do business with them.
  • If they do not want your business then go elsewhere.
They have you mistaken with someone else.

Do you think they will be able to PERMANENTLY straighten it out. My guess is that you would continually be fighting this battle.
You may be offended now but maybe it is a favor in disguise
One question though. Were the early claims correct ("she said in 1997, I had 4 claims, in 1998 I had 3 claims, in 1999 I had 3 claims & in 2000, I had 8 claims,) and you are just disputing the claim in the past year? That might explain the "she told me I never should have been sold the contract since I was on the do not renew list."
  • I wouldn't worry about renewing/having Good Sam Roadside Assistance myself. I'd go with Coach Net. That's what we have and from the general opinion on the different forum's Coach Net is far superior in serviced AND customer service as you found out talking to Good Sam's Customer Service.
