GSRA Suggestion

Used GSRA for the first time July 13. Everything worked out as best is could in the end, BUT, maybe Good Sam should consider this idea:

1. Have our RV information in the Good Sam data base. We give it to them when we apply. The call center and the towing company got things mixed up between them and the towing company, tow company thought they were towing a truck with a camper shell. The flatbed tow truck plus my over 12 foot tall camper/truck combo would have been too high to go under over passes, so they had to dispatch a wrecker type tow truck.

True we may not be using the RV and it is one of our other vehicles but this could be part of the training/standard questions to ask "Is it the Lance camper and truck? Or is it one of your other vehicles?"

In the end we did get towed to the nearest reasonable repair place (Dodge Dealer). The tow company people they sent were nice and knew what they were doing.

Not sure where things got mixed up but did get the truck repaired and was able to continue the trip with some delays.

  • You offer a very good suggestion, but I must say my experience with Coach-Net is they already do that. I had reason to use Coach-Net last year and when I called them, one of their first questions was is the trailer attached to the truck.
  • Thank you for the post gdavidg. I apologize for any confusion during your recent request for service. I would like the opportunity to review this request with you. Please send me a private message with your Good Sam membership information, a phone number you can be contacted at and the best time to reach you and I will call you. I look forward to speaking with you. Thank you, Zach
  • I've never had to use the GSRA yet, but I do agree. I know that my RV has bee nchanged from TT to Motorhome on the GS Club website as I have done it myself. But whenever I go to a CW and give them my card and it comes as still with TT. If that is any indication as to how the GSRA works, then it could be an issue.
