Having problems with Good Sam insurance

My policy for my TV and 5th wheel are with National General. I have had my insurance through them for about 18 months.
MY problem:
I'm set up for the monthly payment plan. Lately, when I receive my bill in the mail, payment is due within about 5 days. Hardly leaves time for me to send out the check and get it to them in time. If it's late they want to charge me $15 late fee. I prefer to pay by check so that I have a record of my bill payments. So for two months now I have received my bill late and they have received my payment late. Is it just me they are doing this to, or are they running some sort of scam trying to collect late fees for their customers.

I can't even head out camping in the last week of the month for fear of missing their bill the day it shows up. They refuse to send out my bill earlier so that I have sufficient time to get the payment to them.

Not Happy and thinking of changing companies.

Good luck. Do a search for "Nationstar Bank" on this site. Lots of discussion there.

I googled for NationStar Bank no such entity exists online. There is a mortgage company called NationStar mortgage but other than that you seem to be the only one that knows about a NationStar Bank

I'm sorry, but I don't see the point in your reply. Can you tell me what Nationstar Bank and National General Insurance have in common? I did a google and found nothing.

They're completely different companies owned by separate entities. They have nothing whatever in common, but Marcus14006 has posted before/ continues to insist that they do.

    Weird!
  • Your bank should have a method whereby you can have recurring payments sent out by the bank in check form on any date you choose. The 3 banks I deal with (all small) have this service. The date comes, bank mails check, insurance company cashes check, image is in your account.

    Second plan.
Pay with CC each month. This gives you record of payment. Pay CC bill.

For the OP, I too have NG (GMAC) and I pay on-line with my credit card (as I do with just about everything else). I get a confirmation for my receipt, plus the credit card report provides the same info (both are legal receipts). I've been doing business this way for many years now, and never have a problem. This allows me freedom of movement with our rv without worries of bills being paid.

Doing business the old way (snail mail and personal check) doesn't seem to be working for you....maybe you might want to think about other methods of payment.

    Good luck,

    Ron
