I have a 2007 fleetwood southwind 37c. Here is what happen my norcold 1210m fridge decided to stop working "ammonia tank leaked out" so I took it to the RV repair shop on Dec 2 2012 they in formed me that the complete unit had to be removed and replaced.i was leaving for a trip on Dec 5 2012. Seeing as it was a buddy trip I could use coolers until I returned. So when I returned on Dec 18 2012 to return to the repair shop I noticed on my warranty it had expired on Dec 12 2012. I was thinking it was a 36 mo but instead it was a 24 mo warranty . I called Good Sam talked to customer service to explain the issue. And she politely told me it doesent matter if the repair shop had made a work orde or not if it is not in the computer by 12/12/13 I was SOL. What is your thoughts on this. The repair shop did not make a repair order because I was bringing it back in a couple weeks not realizing the warranty was that close.but we do have phone records to show I was there. Your Thought?

6 days late. If your auto insurance expired and you got into a wreck 6 days later, would you expect the company to cover you?

Sadly from a legal standpoint you are SOL. It was y0our choice to put off the replacement. I would be more understanding if it were me as the insurer. But I am not a big heartless corporation. I would also considera different brand of fridge. That was way too soon for that kind of failure. Might as well price shop for your fridge.

Perhaps all is not lost. Was there ANY paperwork showing you went to the RV shop on 12/2 and reported the problem? If not, will the shop tell GSESP that you were there 12/2 ?So what if you had taken sick after the 12/2 visit ? Or had to leave town on a family emergency ? If these two scenarios would fly......why not your particular one ?

Yes the repair shop has proof I was there. 12/2/13 but that was not good enough for GS

This is the root of the issue.

Perhaps you can make a deal- you agree to renew you extended service plan for another two years if they agree to make some accommodation for the repair.

The Norcold 1200 series is not available in the re manufactured coils. The Amish say there are design problems not allowing for proper cleaning or flushing out all contamination of the inside coils before rebuilding. The Amish RV Refrigeration company will not do any remanufacturing of any side by side refrigerator because of the cleaning, flushing and the ability to confirm that all contamination was removed from the inner tubing

You can have just the cooling unit replaced cheaper.

Thanks calamus my servicing dealer has stopped using GS because of what ever reasons. So what I was instructed to do by GS is take it to a local repair shop get a estimate get it summited and they will reimburse less deductible. I know I am screwed I just thought it might help someone else to hear my story.

Unfortunately it was my mistake by not paying attention to the date. I do not disagree with that. But I was there before the expiration date.i have worked in the automotive industry for 20 yrs and I know as a manager that their are provisions from major manufactures to take care of good customers with unique situations.

Your dealer should be helping you out with this one! You had it in they should have some paper work on it. I would think they would want the work. Other wise order one online and put it in yourself they are easy to do.
