Insurance Question

A word of caution about calling your insurance company or agent. Your inquiry will be counted as a claim or loss even if you don't file a claim, and it will be included in a data base called Clue that insurance companies use. So, you may loose your claim free discount.

Normally, the comprehensive provision in your policy covers things like your awning.

Call your Ins. Claim number and inquire

Only IF you had it specified on your policy. When you purchase insurance. You pick what you want covered. I chose the awning to be under comprehensive.

Mine is, after the deductible! (All State).

Mine is but I have no idea about yours.

State Farm covered mine... My replacement awning has dry rotted out now so I doubt if that will be covered...

Everything we have here HOUSE-AUTOs-RVs is covered by State Farm Insurance. I have no idea if my truck insurance or trailer insurance covered my wind damaged trailer awning. It actually got damaged while being setup in my back yard - could be the house Insurance covered it???

I just called them up when it got damaged and they sent a check in the mail to cover it.

Being an customer since the early 50s probably helps...

Damage to awnings is covered under RV specialty insurance policies. The Good Sam Insurance Agency represents most of the RV specialty insurance comapnies like National General, Allied, National Interstate, Blue Sky and Progressive.

Ours covers wind damage.
