Think you have it bad, how about the person at the other end of the phone who has to make hundreds of those unsolicited calls a day. You can bet that 99 out of 100 of those calls result in either a hang up or worse. The person making the calls is constantly monitored by their supervisors to be sure they give a cheerful sales pitch rather than say what I am sure they want to say which is "sorry I disturbed you, but right now this is the only job I have and I have bills to pay". I am also sure the number one dream each of those phone solicitors have is that some day their phone will ring and at the other end will be the offer of a better job.
Personally, nothing is better than the fact that most unwanted advertising has moved to mail and e-mail. Much easier on both sides of the coin to just toss or delete.
