A holiday is not a good time to break down,actually no day is good.But they can not control who is open to fix the problem.
If you think GS is bad,try calling AAA on a snowy holiday.If they can get to you that day,some want to be paid up front then you can get reimbursed from AAA.
Yes they should of offered you the option of paying the extra mileage,or helped with a car rental,ect.
