I'm sorry but what exactly did Good Sam do in this case other than argue the point and then, after being called on it, consult what best can be described as yellow pages to find you assistance and call them for you? And you still had to pay an additional $87 for a covered repair? Just what does the yearly dues provide over and above what a Google search could have with much less hassle?
Seriously reconsidering renewal and I USED to be a happy customer.
My thoughts exactly. After having tire issues on our first trip (we're beginner RVers), and not being able to find a way to repair the tire, Good Sam's Roadside Assistance looked really attractive. We're Good Sam members now and I was going to buy the Roadside Assistance today, until reading some of these threads.
It seems worthless... correct me if I'm wrong, but what is GS going to do to help me fix a flat tire, that I can't do with a phone call and internet search myself?
And if anyone DOES know of a roadside assistance program that will send a big rig capable tow truck with proper tires and jacks, please let me know. We were down for 5 days finding tires and someone to put them on for us (jacks are non-operational at the moment because controller is missing), and really want to avoid that in the future, although we're hoping now with all new tires it's a rare chance.
