Since there are no legal requirements in most states, no two companies have identical operating procedures.
Some absolutely are better and some worse.
Some terminate after one claim.
Some raise rates after one claim.
Some actually are up front and honest and TELL YOU IN PLAIN ENGLISH what their policy IS.
Some keep it a big secret and terminate out of the blue......after their marketing information emphasizes that they cover multiple cars, boats, RVs and multiple family members.....but fail to EVER mention that there is a secret limit.
If you don't think that is unethical, then you have a funny concept of ethics.
Would it not be nice if all Ins. Co. Published they will cancel your coverage after 2 claims. I bet everyone would save those claims up for "good ones". If all Co. refused to write anyone with 2 claims, nobody would submit that 2nd claim. Afraid your definition of "unethical" is shared by very few others. I feel the best remedy is double the premium after each claim.
