Mexico Roadside Assistance

Question

I am considering the GS roadside plan. We do some travelling in our RV in Mexico and I know that GS has some coverage. On Monday I tried the 1 866 # for Mexico that GS provides. Tried all day and it does not work. I called the GS Roadside # in the USA and told them of the problem. I also emailed GS. As of yesterday it was still not working and NO ONE has contacted me. If I were broke down in Mexico I would die of old age before any service was provided. Looks like we will stick with Coach Net. Too bad as we have been GS members since the early 70's. Very bad service. I just tried that # again and it is still not working!

Thank you for the post Moisheh. Are you dialing the Mexico Dispatch number from the inside the United States as it appears in the benefit brochure (001-866-456-0969)? If so it will give an error due to the call originating from the United States as that format is set up for dialing within Mexico. If you dial using a U.S. call format (1-866-456-0969) from inside the United States it works.

I am dialing the # exactly as stated on your web site 001-866 456 0969. Calling form Sonora. It rings once and then goes to a fast busy tone. If that 866 # is a USA# one has to change the 866 to 883. Normally it then is not toll free and very expensive. If you were on the side of the road without a cell phone how would you call? No Mexican is going to let you use his phone for a long distance call and I don't blame them.
