The point is that the car cannot be driven. She didn't have a spare, and neither does my motor home. So they will leave the coach on the side of the road because it doesn't carry a spare? Of corse not..
She also made it clear that it is sidewall damage and it cannot be repaired, so it HAS to be towed. What she does once the car is safely at the ONLY place to get the tires:1 or 4 replacements makes no difference to the tow, so what's the nitpicking about? I guarantee that AAA will come get me and tow the car where it needs to go for non-standard tires because I just had mine towed to the dealer after TWO sidewall blowouts, no questions. It's roadside service, plain and simple.
It's called emergency roadside service. They were not on the side of the road. They were safely at home. It happened 2 miles from home and yet they managed to get home. They made an appointment for several days later for a place that had to order the tires. They could of gotten a tire of similar size (not run flat) put on for them to get to their 4 tire replacement appointment that is 45 miles away.
As someone mentioned, it's not a towing service.
For some reason I feel the ERS provider should make the decision if it is covered, not some "no it alls" on a forum. :h
