Hi TimfmCT,
In this example, Good Sam or Pilot Flying J don't have any control over the transaction limit imposed by some credit/debit card companies when you're paying with your own form of payment. In order to receive the 6¢ savings as a Life member the form of payment must be the RV Plus Charge Card.
The main difference between the 2 ways to save on fuel is this:
Swipe & Save membership card:
save 3¢ and pay with any form of payment you'd like, possible single transaction limit determined by your debit/credit card company
RV Plus Charge Card:
apply for the charge card & save 6¢ (as a Life member) when you pay with the charge card, no single transaction limit
Hope this helps,

Hopefully you can still see my suggested solution.
Here's how it would fit into your reply.
Swipe, swipe&save card.
Pay with your RV+ card instead of a credit card.
If Flying J is paid the 3 cents that we are losing instead of the credit card company maybe they will permit monthly balances paid by credit card.
