Thanks everyone for your comments. In reference to a few points.. We would have welcomed a tire to be changed out but due to the condition of the Dollie ( the fender was actually sheared) we were unsure if just tire replacement would be safe to travel. At the time we were just trying to get off the Interstate and would have welcomed any assistance but the dispatcher did not offer any solution. He said he would return call in about 20minutes. I called them back and was told they still had no answer for us.
We should have had a spare and that was a mistake on our part. I still would have felt we needed assistance to change it out.
I never felt the young man understood what I was telling him or needing.. It was a very stressful and nerve wracking ordeal. I am so thankful for the help we received thru Ala. Hwy Patrol.
It is over but not soon forgotten.
