No Roadside Assistance is what they should call it

We have been good sam members for years, Insurance, Roadside and shopped regularly at camping world. Well all that is over now!!! This past weekend was the first time we had to use our GS roadside. It was our second flat of the day and I had changed the first one myself, so needless to say we had no spare. Got the second flat on the interstate and pulled over and called GS. Was informed it was busy and there would be extreme wait times. We waited with two kids on the side of the road for 1.5 hours for a call back, just to be informed that they could not help us. I had to unhook my camper on the side of the interstate, take the wheels off and go looking for tires. I found a Merchants Tire that put two new tires on and luckily the camper was still sitting on the jacks and I put the new tire on and we were on our way. It was extremely nerve racking being 5 hours from home with your family and the help you pay for is non existent!!!
My wife called today to express our concern for the lack of interest in helping us and the safety of my family. The rep told her GS provides good service and it is not 100% guaranteed and hung up the phone. Well I didn't pay GS for service some of the time, I paid for when my family needs it most and it failed miserably!!! I will never spend another dime of my money with GS or any of its companies!!!

  • I'm definitely exploring other options. Some have mentioned Coach-Net, but don't know much about them. AAA is another option. I don't think it is much to ask to have an network of reliable mobile services and CSRs for your customers, especially when RVs are what you do.
  • I've read one too many of these stories. Im convinced that these companies are only after our money and like you said, when you need them most you can't rely on them. We are Canadian, when we called about options etc the person on the call commented that the entire Canadian market was smaller than Texas and as a result services could be spotty. I've never used our CAA premier plus RV road side, but at least they didn't promise me spotty service.

  • Hello vacane - I apologize for the lack of service received. The delay, lack of a solution, and feedback from our representative are unacceptable. I would like to investigate further and review our call records to correct these issues, if you could send me a private message with your member number and phone number you used to call our dispatch center.

    Thanks in advance for help.
