I used GSRA for the first time on our new Class C. We were in the campground when we noticed the outside dual tire was getting soft. We called at for assistance at 6:50 pm and hung up at 6:58 with the assurance that we would get service by 8:30 and receive a follow-up call at 9:00. We got neither so at 9:30 I called and was told service would be there at 10:00. I called again at 10:10 and it was decided that service would come at 8:00am the next day. Service was there by 9:00 and the tire was removed, a new tire installed and we were on our way. Although it took so long, we were glad to be moving again but at what cost: $445.62 Wow is the response I got from other RVers we talked to. I looked up the exact tire we got, the MSPR is $170, with Bridgestone advertised installation in the town of the service provider, at $35. Since the call and the 30 miles the tech had to travel is covered by my membership, I can't understand why I had to pay $240 more. Sure the road labor would be a little more but not that much. Should I expect to get ripped like this every time I get a tire changed? Ouch!

What town did you break down in?Yes I agree that you got charged an excessive amount.One RV.Net member reported getting a price to install all 6 of his tires for his RV, and the company sent out a truck to his home, and they changed them in his front yard. This was the 'best' price he could get for his tires!Fred.

Please understand, I didn't expect to get my tire changed for free and it did get done so I could be on my way again. The forum allowed me to air my issue and I do appreciate that. Since the service was not done until the following day instead of at 10:00 pm in a rain storm, the tire change charge was reduced. Thanks to the the Good Sam team that helped resolve my issue and the nice young man that did such a great job changing our tire.

That sounds like a lot, but not unreasonable when you consider modern day shop charges. My local RV shop is at $197.00 per hour--that's in their shop. If you factor in mileage, time to accomplish the job, and a hefty mark up on the tire, it doesn't take much imagination to get to the $400 plus figure.

We were traveling home on Labor Day when the tire blew out on our car kaddy. We immedialtely called roadside and they connected us with someone that didn't even know the area we were in, he told my hubby he would have to find a place opened and that had a tire and would get back to us asap. Well, 2 hours later we heard back from him but told him not to bother because my husband had taken the car and gone to Walmart which was just off the interstate where we were and got a tire, put it on and we were on the road again. The guy said it would cost us $320. Hubby goin to Walmart it only cost $130 and a few headaches. Really am going to have to re-think if I want to spend the money on this again. Very, Very disappointed.

We were 30 miles north of Vernal UT, sitting in the campground. The service told us they had a tech and the tire we needed before they promised delivery in 90 minutes.

After 2 delays we suggested postponing until the next morning since it was after 10:10pm and it was raining. At first the service said no but after talking to the tech they said he would come in the morning.

They told us how much it would cost but we had no idea if that was fair or not. We've had the coach less than a year and never had such an experience. What else could we do? We trusted we were in good hands with Good Sam.

The tech from Vernal was very nice, worked quickly and did a nice clean job. We even gave him a tip for his trouble. Very nice person.

I suggested this based on the service being put off till the next day. They may have had to chase one down. It took three days to get one for my rv. The bill was almost $700
