Dear Marcus,Today I read an article on Travel RV that the new policy of free parking at your stores is that you have to buy an RV at your stores. I take this as a slap in the face. I am an owner of a used Roadtrek 190V which I purchased at a very good price. You do not even sell Class Bs. If I were to purchase a Class A or other RV new, I would purchase from my friend Frannie Roberts of Longview than from you.I am also a Good Sam member and have purchased the Good Sam towing service over any other. I am also a member of FMCA in that I am a member of Roadtrek International. What you have done is essentially said that Good Sam members don't count. If you continue to keep this policy and discriminate against, especially, Good Sam members, I shall take my business elsewhere, and encourage others to follow.Heapie

So this private business that says if you don't do business with us we won't do favors....yes, favors...for you? Hey, hate to tell you but you can't camp at my business or home either. GROW UP!

You are not going to get any sympathy here. Unreasonable to expect CW to provide a place for anyone and everyone who comes along a free place to park. I don't think you will be missed.

Dear Heapie, in reading your previous posts, it is clear that you are pre disposed to overnighting in 'free parking lots', to disposing of your trash in other business dumpsters. I would like to educate you on that practice. While overnight parking may be permitted on a personal property, disposal of waste solid or liqud is within the rights of the property owner to permit or deny such. To dispose of waste on anothers property without permission is 'theft of service'. Please review your waste disposal practice, so that you are not in contravention to law and EPA guidelines governing waste disposal.

So because you also have Shell, Chevron and Bank of America cards to do business with them, I guess you expect carte blanche with those business too?

Heapie makes a good point, but very poorly presented. Camping World could embrace all Rvers to park overnight, regardless of where they bought their RV, in the hopes they would purchase goods or services from Camping World. However, that was not their choice, and I understand that. Because of the limited amount of space at many stores, a much better return on investment would be to display RVs for sale, not provide free parking to multitudes of Rvers. I have to ask, however, how is a store in California to know where an overnight parker from New York bought his RV?

How would Camping World know if you bought your unit from them? They do sell used and commission units as well as the brands they represent of new units. Did you ever think that maybe that policy was to get homeless who are living in a car ot tent off their properties? Your complaining about nothing.

Campers World is not associated with Marcus or this website, however Camping World is.

Despite the association of the Good Sam Club with Camping World, the fact is that Camping World is a 'for profit' business. As a 'for profit' business, it answers to the share holders, not the customers or non-customers.

While you are entitled to your opinion Camping World is entitled as well.
If they believe it is good business strategy to open there lots only to RV'ers that purchase from them so be it. Joining good Sam for a few $$$ does not equate to buying a 20K-2000K or more RV.
I some case parking may be limited. CW wants to give CW owner's preference which makes sense to me.
As you mentioned there are other places to park overnight, go there.
If CW chooses to shut you out, respect there decision. None of us are entitled to use their private property.

Thanks SDown/op as there is a pattern of taking advantage of businesses. Unfortunately he does not see anything wrong with what he does, even camping where it is not allowed because his rig might only be a van, not a camper.

CW probably changed their policy because of all the trash being left at their stores by people like him.

Boy, I think you all missed my point. There are many people in RVs that think that paying a lot for a night in a cramped camp ground is not good and prefer staying in business parking lots with permission. To me Campers World and Good Sam Club are the same people, and they are. The reason for my position. I guess I was a bit heavy. No I am going to be arrested by the EPA for dropping a small bag in a waste basket. Every night I spend in Walmarts, Cracker Barrell, is with permission and giving business to them. I just think Campers World has gone to far on this new policy.
