PILOT FLYING J RV PLUS CHARGE CARD

Recent posts indicate in this forum section indicate the current card is going to be discontinued and the new PILOT FLYING J RV PLUS CHARGE CARD is the only card that will allow us to continue to have pump start at the island.

I applied for this new card a few nights ago and after getting a glitch fixed (Good Sam had no phone number for me on file) although Pilot / Flying J has had that information on file for several years.
After a few frustration minutes I was able to contact both PFJ and Good Sam and have the glitch fixed.

I assume I should receive my new credit card in a couple weeks but was wondering how long it has taken for others who have applied for the credit card?

As I may have this topic come up in the General RV'ing forum section I would like to have some feedback on how the process service has been. I will say I did my application in the evening and both Good Sam had a operating call center in Colorado and PFJ had one operation in the Tennessee area, both of which had well trained and attentive staff.

Your comments will be appreciated.

  • I just logged into my PFJ account and could find nothing about changes to the existing RV PLUS card. The only thing I could find is another card that GS members get called the Swipe and Save card. It is not a charge card like the RV PLus card and is only about half the savings.
  • I've had the RV Plus Card since GS announced the service.

Initially some P/FJ did not have the pumps programmed, but that seems to be fixed now. I still get people at the counter if I go in who don't understand the card.

And I've even had one call the manager when I had to have the card swiped inside due to a pump card reader malfunction - because she couldn't believe the price was ringing up so low due to the discount.

I've never been cutoff at $75 or $100. But you have to remember the card is only valid for $1,000 ($2,000 if you sign up for automatic draft payments from your checking account).

I know people who have made long trips, and run up against that limit. All it takes is going on-line and making a mid-month payment to get more 'room' on the card.

Also be aware that in some places, P/FJ is the name on a station/center apparently owned by another company - and some don't honor the discounts, or only give them in the truck lanes.

P/FJ prints a booklet of all their locations by state - be sure to get that and check the notes about discounts and such when you go to a new state for the first time.

You can find the info on line, but it is very cumbersome compared to a quick look in the paper book.
  • I think it took a week or two to get ours. But they only sent one of the cards, even though it clearly listed 2 different ones for us (me and wife).

I called them to let them know and they said they would send it out. After a few months, never received it. Called them again and had it in a week.
  • If I get this card, will I be able to completely fill-up without getting cut-off at $75 or $100? That's so annoying!

    Thanks.
