Shame the way the warranty was presented to you. Happy things worked out. I am not against warranties but you really need to read them and shop around.

You are correct Rollnhome....It was the way the extended warranty was presented to us by sales staff at Camping World that was confusing. They did pay for one of the tires that blew after driving only 800 miles. We also learned not to trust those selling..We were told the brakes, bearings etc were all checked but found they have no record of that being done. We did find when we crawled under that there are zerk fitting on the springs that have never been lubed. We cancelled the contract and are waiting our money and with that will replace the other tires and get the brakes and bearings checked. We should have known better based on previous experience dealing with sales staff. As others have mentioned beware of used car and RV sales persons.

Extended warranties typically do not cover tires. Read the contract before you buy.
Why GS is reaching out to you is beyond me. The tires are not covered. I could be wrong but I doubt it. Read your contract. Did it include the optional tire coverage?

We purchased a used 5th wheel Heartland 2011. Been RVrs for years but quit for number of reasons 7 years ago. Decided why sitting around waiting to die..lets do what we love and so started looking. Our brains are no what they were being 80. We bought through Portland Oregon Camping World sales guy named Andy. We purchased extended warrant with it as sales guys said covered everything from hitch to bumper. We were told it was served and all ok.. Headed for Az..and 800 miles down the road blew a tire. Called Good Sam but they could not find us but those in RV park where we were helped us change to what looked like a new spare tire. They said date on the tire was 2010 and since they looked new...as did the RV must have sat on them for years. We got cost infer from tire places and Camping World when got to Buckeye Az. Camping world wanted 300 for tire and all local tire dealers wanted 130 installed. Called Camping world where we bought the tire and said the extended warranty did not cover undercarriage or tires. Did say they would pay for the 130 dollars for the one that blew but no more. We were told by other RVrs and tire places we checked with all of the tires that old could blow. Long story short we cancelled the 2400 4 year extended warranty. We are waiting for our check. Beware when buying used rigs...we were told by manager at camper world they replace if 7 years old.

It depends on your comfront level. My wife likes them i dont but the risk of not having one scares her. Not worth it except for piece of mind

But with an exclusionary policy you can read a "list" what is excluded. If it is not specifically excluded then it is included and hovered. These warranties have their place. I think most expect too much or are mislead by the salesman.

My next door neighbor purchased a three year extended warranty from Good Sam when he acquired a 2008 MH for $687. This January he left for a 2500mi trip. At 600 miles into the trip the transmission failed. The extended warranty covered the OEM factory rebuilt transmission for $5267 minus his $1000 deductible plus motel and meals. At 1500 miles into the trip the engine began to lose power and was missing. The Ford garage determined that a spark plug had failed with an electrode falling into a cylinder and scored the cylinder. The extended warranty rep determined that the engine needed to be replaced so a OEM factory rebuilt was installed for $12,000 minus the $1000 deductible. So no ALL extended warranty contracts are bad. He did OK

Extended warranty plans have saved me a bunch if money and worries. Know what your policy covers. An exclusionary policy is your best bet as it lists what is not covered. Search for your best deal. Price on these type polices are all over the place. I would not purchase such a policy on a new rig but a 2008 with no warranty could get very expensive very fast.
It is an insurance policy prices vary greatly, shop around.
