LOL........You do get accident forgiveness. The "rate" does not go up. What happens is you lose your accident free and safe driver "discounts", or whatever your specific carrier calls them. The loss of the discounts is typically more money than what a rate increase would be. Also some will deny reinstating those discounts for 5 years, not 3. That's their way of skating around 3 year surcharge limits that are imposed by some state regulators.
"Accident Forgiveness" is also usually tied to a whole host of fine print outs. One $10 parking ticket is usually enough for them to deny it totally when a claim is filed.
