Camper G your comments are right on track! The most critical part of towing a motorhome is the pickup and drop-off, The potential for damage to the motorhome sure increases the liability of the towing company. They have to safely lift the coach, secure it to the truck, and remove the drive shaft. These things have to be done regardless of the mileage they will haul the coach! The extra 35 miles shouldn't have cost very much but with my payment of $300 it seems the travel cost was about $9.70 a mile. I am not in the towing business but that sounds high to me when truck drivers are driving for less than $1.00 per mile.
Anyhow all is well. We are fixed and back home. I will be using the next few months to locate a Roadside Assistance program that cares a little more about customer service.
