Road side assistance

I am gathering information and trying to decide which plan to get. If I chose the standard RA..

•Unlimited distance towing to the nearest independent professional service center
•Protection for one RV and all household vehicles (as long as they aren't used for commercial purposes)
•Flat tire service
•24/7 toll-free Roadside Assistance
•Protection in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands & Mexico
•RV Concierge Service
•Discounts at AAMCO Centers
•Spouse & children protection
•Emergency fuel and fluid delivery
•Lost key/lock out service
•Roadside mechanical repairs
•$1,200 Trip Interruption Assistance
•Emergency medical referral service

The question is....

What is considered the nearest independent professional service center? Could this end up being a mobile gas station with a service bay?

What if a bearing goes out in the trailer, will you tow trailler only to a repair shop for repairs, even though the tow vehicle is not affected? Above states an RV, is a trailer included an RV?

    I think the thing to keep in mind here is none of the services, AAA, Coach Net, or Good Sam, own the towing companies. They each get contracts with local service companies and dispatch those companies to your car or RV. They are only as good as the towing company providing the service. You'll see good and bad about each of them.

    We are new to the RV and have AAA with the RV/motorcycle upgrade.
    Do I need to be worried about them not covering/helping with roadside service on our DP ??

    I am in the same boat (RV!). I have had AAA Road Service for over 35 years and think highly of their service for my CAR. I am nervous about using them for my RV. So, I am going between Good Sam and Coach Net...comparing, etc. Any opinions and please say why?! Thanks!

    I have the platinum, where they tow to closest qualified, but when I said I would like to go somewhere else that was a bit further, they allowed me to pay the extra mileage via credit card on phone and tow to my preferred repair shop.. it was less than $20 for the extra miles.. the platinum plus that gives you 100 miles costs more per year than the $20 for the one time I needed tow. I have used lock-out service several times.. for car and for truck even just around town. GS platinum or platinum plus will also help you deal with utility trailer issues if you tow anything other than RV.

    Another nice things about the platinum is having access to a tech when you run into a challenge and are away from home. I had a minor electrical issue over a holiday weekend and was able to talk to a tech to troubleshoot and then resolve the issue without having to go without electricity until a local shop opened (and break my budget and spoil my weekend away) .

    I have the Platinum Plan. Fuel filter problem on the GMC 3 weeks ago. They towed to my regular mechanic about 23 miles. Other places that could replace a fuel filter less than 5 miles away. They brought a tire for my utility trailer last year. I have no complaints.

    So, if I pick the next plan up, where they will tow up to 100 miles to whatever place you want. That's how I understand it. It seems to me, that may be the better deal so I cam choose.

    They will tow the trailer to a repair shop capable of doing the work.
    If it was your tow vehicle, they would tow it to a repair facility and tow the trailer to the closest RV park. Won't let you stranded.
