Roadside Assistance Renewal Notice

Leaving for a trip tomorrow and DW noticed our GS Roadside assistance membership expired a month ago. NEVER got a notice for renewal. (Some would like that) Have had this problem for about 10 years ever since my son joined Good Sam. Seems like every other year my renewal notices go to my son instead of me and vice versa. Called each time it happens and am assured the problem has been taken care of and will not happen again. NOT!

Just called GS RA to renew, however was told it would not take affect for 48 hours. Hopefully I will not need it before then.

  • The problem is they use the name, not the membership number. I guess it's my problem since I gave my name to my first born son.

  • I have the same issue when my parents signed on. We receive renewal notices for each other, it is crazy. Three times in the store we tried to fix it and failed. I called the 800 number and the rep was able to fix it.

    Of note, I go to my store in Ohio (where I live), they ring up my card, and it pulls up by last name, not your member number, so the name that comes out on top is from Colorado and sure enough, everytime, the cashier looks at me and says, oh, your from Colorado! No, next name down, the one from the same city/state as the store we are standing in.
  • did you somehow unclick the boxes in the good sam roadside web site that allow them to send you renewal emails?
    At the bottom of the page is a place to click that states "I no longer want any communication with Good Sam Roadside or its affiliates"
  • They usually send the renewal over a month or so before it expires. I always set it aside until closer a week or so before the expire date
    The renewal request includes a new card.
  • I'm traveling one year at a time. Don't know when I will call it quits. Could be the last year.

    Besides, what is so hard about using membership numbers to properly identify the owner and correct address.?
