Roadside Assistance Urgent Statement

My wife renewed our GS Roadside Assistance for three years a couple months ago... and a renewal "FINAL NOTICE" came in a month later.

This was not set to expire until 2017, yet the claim was that it expires in May.

This post was a good reminder that I still need to get this straightened out... We have RA for 3 years and Membership for the same time, yet the system shows our RA to have about 10 months left and our membership a month.

What exactly did we get for danged near $300 in March? Not the memberships we paid for, that's for sure.

Ditto...and dont ever be a little late on a credit card. They will want double your payment right then, even though your new bill said its not due for a couple weeks. Many many businesses do this. I mean I think Marcus is doing a good job. Do I think it can bet better? Yes. But I am not going to credit him for being brilliant enough to get people to pay, when they don't actually owe. He's good, but not that good. No offense Marcus, lol.

It's all marketing.

I do think they have a database problem. I think they are working off of different databases that are supposedly suppose to merge upon updates, but I think there must be some that are not functioning correctly. Could be the reason why some people who have asked to be removed are still getting things. They could of signed up for something like a give away or left their info somewhere under a different way. Maybe one time as Bob Jones, another time Bobby Jones, B Jones, Robert Jones, and etc. I would think that a crosscheck of an address and eliminating all mailings to an address, no matter what the name, would work. But then again, I'm not sure it's updating all their entry points to the databases. I think they do need to clean it all up. I think it has piled on top of each other and looks like a mountain about now.

Hi Everyone, I apologize for any confusion that the additional mailings cause. Just to clarify that you have two options to make a request for less mail to be sent to you. The website and by calling member services for both current and non-current members. The contact us option at the top right hand corner of the website will allow you to send us an email whether you are a member or not. If you receive a renewal notice for a membership that you are not sure you are member of the customer service representatives can research your information and assist you in streamlining the mail that you receive. Thanks, Zach

I unchecked the options from my account and the mailings really dropped off. I have gotten the ones that make it seem like I need to renew a coverage that I don't have which does not make me happy.

IMO, it makes GS look like a scammer and puts everything else in it offers in a bad light.

Just the opposite, I am a life member, from before Affinity group bought them out. I get a ration every time I try to do anything as they tell me I am NOT a member, then when I produce our "LIFE member" card, they backtrack and tell me that my card is NO good. Believe me, their data base is so fouled up, they have NO idea who is and who is NOT a member.

The Texan, Since a GS logo doesn't show on your posts I assume (I know bad thing to do) you're not a member. Possibly your mailings are coming from a database that is not Good Sam's. Lots of ways to get your name and the fact that you own an RV along with your address and anything else they want to know.

I got that message last month about renewing the GS roadside assistance. I have Coach.Net Platinum for another couple of years. Called them about the "notice" turns out they gave "free" one year GS roadside assistance plans" to all GS Extended Warranty holders last year..so now they bill you for your renewal. Neat ploy, but didn't work with me. They got me already, but not again, I fell for the unwarranted Good Sam membership "renewal" notices a couple of years ago, ours is now good until 2022. Then we go to Camping World last year and were told we needed to renew our GS membership to get the President's Club Discount. Got it straightened out, but not to happy about it.

Yep works great and I don't get any GS mail that I opted out of.

Glad it works for you guys. Mine has been "unchecked" for over a year and I still receive junk mail from them on a regular basis. I just checked to make sure and NONE of the boxes were checked......
