WOW!!! Faith is restore in GSRS. Just got off the phone with Frank and could not have spoke with a nicer person. This is what I expect from GS. All is taken care of and more than I expected. Thanks for your help Frank

Just had 4 new tires mounted and spin balanced yesterday at a major tire co. Thanks to GY for helping on tires. Was charged less than 200 for mount, balance, and new valves. So thats less than 50 per tire. Think 35 is plenty for just one mount. I know the tow companys will accept credit cards. If the 150 is a standard fee I would suggest that GS check around before using the co that chg their customers this "IMO" Just remember that ALL my problems started with camping world which I now understand has merged with GS. Funny that I now have a problem with GSRS. Well thanks to all for letting me vent

I asked the mobile guy that came out over the weekend about how much the tire folks charge. It is $150 an hour labor charge, minimum 1 hour charge, plus any balancing beads you may need, plus the tire, and he said I could probably buy 2 tires for what the charge for 1. I asked about patching, he said if the tire had been run while flat most will not do it due to liability issues. He said most ERS cover the to and from you, just not the onsite, He said to make sure I never run it flat, and hope the guy who comes out believes me and will patch it if it can be patched.

Please clear something up for me. Was the $150 quoted by GSRS or the tire service and who did you pay?

From what I have read on here, GS will charge you for it on a credit card you give them over the phone.

As far as the which tow company, they "may" not know know until they are completing the service call on the computer and the next available one will pop up. I have no idea, just throwing out a possibility.

The $150 is a standard fee from what I understand... Just as if you didn't have a tire, they charge you an inflated price for a tire. It's all been discussed on here before....

GSRS told me that is what the tire service would charge me to remove the blown tire and mount my tire on the rim. Hope all will be well now. Just removed the last "wrong" tires camping World installed. GY came through and really helped. GS is supposed to call me tomorrow. Will let all know the outcome.

I did not pay the 150. Called and got my own road service and total cost for service call and mounting of tire was 86 dollars. Road Mart was the road service. Very professional.

Yes. How else do they make money on this deal? Ever get a tow lately or have someone get the keys out of your car for you? They wouldn't stay in business if they covered everything with what they charge.

If you look at my sig. you would think I know a little about this type of business. That much of a mark up is just greedy and taking advantage of the situation. They should be making their money by selling the roadside service, not ripping off their customers.

You pay a max of around $159 for roadside service. Have you priced the cost of getting things towed? Several years ago it cost us $150 just to have my sons s10 pick up towed about 5 miles to a storage yard aftere wrecked it. I can imagine an rv to cost even more. And then to have them tow it up to 100 miles of your choosing. If we asked them to tow his truck another 95 miles, I'm sure the cost would of been over $300-400 easily. Before we had roadside service, we locked our keys in our TT in Destin Florida on Easter Sunday. Cost to get somene to come out and open it up? Well over $100. I can't remember the exact but remember that I could of well paid for the roadside service with what we paid. Granted they get a contracted rate, there's not a whole lot of room for them to make money of what they will cover. Knowing ahead of time as to what' they will pay and won't pay is burden of the customer. It's a money making business. They aren't doing it to break even or lose money. If you have to pay anything out of pocket (anything they don't cover) then you can expect it to cost more than normal. It's an emergency situation and that's where they are gonna get you. By all means, just like extended warranties, it may be best for those to self fund their emergencies if they are able to do so.

You can say all you want about beating the drum. But it's quite evident that many people do not read up on their benefits or think about how businesses run. They run to make money. And if there is a way to make money (usually going beyond what the benefits read) then they will. Coachnet, AAA and all the others are in it for the same thing. If you wanted to add the benefit of these type of things, then people would easily be paying double or more.

Yes I do know what towing cost. If you checked my sig. I think you could figure that out. We are not talking tow here. We are talking about them giving him a price of $150.00 and telling him they don't even know what the service will charge them to change the tire. Do you really think if they paid $100.00 they would return the $50.00? Their service they were paid for when he joined should have covered locating help and them staying out of what the supplier charged the customer.
