Roadside service

I have spent some time reading the horror stories about roadside service. I recently bought this service but fortunately have not needed to use it. What is being done to insure ready proper service to other Good Sam members of this service?

  • This forum service is provided here as an opportunity to address problems that occasionally occurs and need the attention of the CEO's and/or Response Team. More businesses could improve their customer service by following Good Sam's example.

The good reports are told to friends about why they too need Good Sam's ERS. I am all time pointing people to GSERS. Even it there is a problem encountered occasionally with the service it is corrected in a very satisfactory way.
  • gary....you need to tell the GS operator EXACTLY what is the problem. All the details of where you are located and all the details of what rig you have; 4wd, GVWR, etc. etc.

If there is the slightest clue your operator does not know your situation, down to a gnats a.. INSIST ON TALKING TO A SUPERVISOR.

This should cover a lot of potential problems. Don't forget: weekends, holidays, weather and distance from the proper tow truck operator or service center can all play a part.
  • I think this must be in line with what I have experienced in retail sales and service of appliances. If you do a good job, people will tell one or two others. If you do a bad job, they will tell up to ten people. Same with TV, bad news sells. Sad but true.

I wonder how many people have had any kind of ERS for years and never used it? I guess we will never hear from them!
  • Great story Larry... but it's called Good Sam, not Good Sams.
  • WELL.... We left Florida on June 19th North bound to our former residence in Maryland and while filling our truck with diesel in Savanna Ga. I look down and noticed a Grape Fruit size bubble on the left front tire sidewall. After fueling up we moved over to the parking lot and the (WAR DEPARTMENT)my loving wife that is, called Good Sams Roadside Assistance and about 45 mins. later we were back on the road. I am new to Good Sams and I must say I was skeptical about joining however after last years experience of changing a tire alongside I95 North of Richmond Va. by myself and 62 years old I'm glad I joined. "GOOD JOB" Good Sams and thanks for the service you provide.

Exactly... Typically you will only hear the negative stories as people seem to like to tell them and others like to hear them. However, very few will tell about their positive interactions with their respective ERS...why? I don't know but I bet that for every negative situation, there are hundreds of positive that are not told.

Me... I wouldn't be without one. CN was provided to us when we first bought our mh, but never used it. Since then, we've had nothing but GS and have used it multiple times with positive results....some not as good as others, but nevertheless, still took good care of us in some bad situations.

Well said and this is the internet - it does not have to be factual for someone to complain

  • If you read the threads in this section there should be a resolution towards the end of it. At least with GS you have a public place to voice it, with CN you don't. You also have to take into account most will not post about positive experiences. I didn't post when I needed a jump start, the tire changes we have had over the past few years. It worked liked it should have.
