Not sure if this is legit or a scam? I get an email that looks like it is from Good Sams Roadside Assistance saying to contact them as soon as possible to update my credit card details as my account is due to lapse. Gives me a 866 number to call. I think to myself, my agreement does not expire until December of 2016, and all my business has been handled and paid for online??So I call the number. Immediately they want to know my name, what type of coach I have, my phone number, I just hung up. All that information is already at their reach.Anyone else get this, and maybe someone from Good Sam's can answer this if legit or not and why my credit card is needed?

This is just but ONE more REASON Good Sam needs to STOP sending out fraudulent renewal notices.

WHEN are they going to stop this practice? Maybe more importantly how have they been allowed legally to continue to do so.:R

I was on the road traveling when I got my 'fake' renewal. Saying it was expired. At first Put me into a tail spin worried about not being covered. I STILL get ticked off just thinking about that dammmn fake renewal notice.

I am very dissapointed in this tactic that is being used. I am away right now but I intend to post the email, none of my programs are due to expire, good sam membership, travel assist, and roadside assistance. When I called, it was like 20 questions from the person on the phone. Wanting phone number, year make model of the RV... I said I don't give those details out on the phone and hung up.

One could easily get ones email from this board, send a bogus email asking to call, get all the info etc. Not a good practice good sam!

NEVER update credit card information as prompted by an email. When in doubt, call the company involved but NOT from any phone number the email provided number. Scammers cover their bases very well and email/logos look identical. My 2 cents............

Having had credit cards hacked twice, I am VERY leery and on the guard for phishing tries.
