Slow....

Left work in a large office building in the middle of a metro area of 250,000 people and found a flat tire. Not being in a position to change a tire, I called my Good Sam Platinum roadside service. After asking me questions about everything but my mother's country of birth, they finally said they would send someone out. After 1.5 hours with no word from GSRS, I gave up and worked on changing the tire myself. The Roadside service person finally showed up 2 hours later just as I was screwing the lug nuts back on. Fortunately, the suit I was wearing was black and probably won't show the grease and dirt stains too much.

I can't believe that after 2 hours the loser that came by is the only help they could find. He said he is the only one working the northern part of my state.

While I had very good service the last time I had to use them about 3 years ago, they sure failed today. I was going to sign up my daughter and her travel trailer as a gift to her, but I think I'll wait now.

..
  • The last time I had a flat tire on the company car, I was recovering from a heart attack. The office knew this and sent out a co-worker to change the tire for me. I was an hour away from the office.

My co-worker made it to me, changed the tire, and left, all before AAA arrived!!!

Slow service is not unique to Good Sam.
  • Sure seems like an "on the ball" response to me. Note the time of the response, shortly after 02:00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When did this happen? If he is the only one working the northern part of the state, then there may be the reason it took so long.

wbwood, This happened yesterday. Don't get me wrong. About 3 years ago I had 2 blow outs on the same day on my RV and the service was fantastic and understanding of my plight. They just didn't quite justify their fee yesterday. I could have surely found someone myself is a much more timely manner.

Do you have road service on your auto also, I keep it just so I cn call Firetone or any tow service in Huntsville, Al. They will change your auto tire and you simply carry the bill to your insurance carrier (at least with State farm and alfa). Sorry for your problem, Mike's and Reliable are 2 good ones here in town to call. Hope to meet up with you just look for the B&L hvac truck.

Chiefcpo, The GSRA is supposed to handle your autos also. It might be worth it for me to get coverage from another carrier and call both of them and hope one shows up in a reasonable time.
