Don't believe Good Sam is the only provider who has a difficult time understanding or communicating ....case in point. I have Triple A RV roadside assistance and Progressive RV roadside. On our most recent trip, one of my two year old tires went flat, it had a piece of glass in it. Both providers offered two options, but my spare on( most of us with 22.5 inch tires don't carry spares) or they could tow me to a service provider( tire dealer). I informed them I didn't have a spare and because it was a rear tire, a 2500.00 flatbed tow would be necessary. I strongly suggested to send out a mobile tech, someone who could fix the flat. Both adamantly said they do not provide this service....one saying its too dangerous to make roadside repairs, of course, I was parked in a campground. I must have argued with them(including a supervisor) for 30 minutes. I simply said, the same person you would send out to put my spare on if I had one, would probably be the same one who could patch my tire! Their solution was to flatbed tow me at a cost of, ( I'm guessing at least 2000.00) to them where I would pay 40 bucks to have my tire repaired....wow!
I finally just contacted a mobile repair, 90.00 service call and 35.00 for commercial tire repair. What a joke and I went through this same thing before when I hada blowout 6-7 years ago. I never asked them to pay for the repair, just the service call....they said I could submit the bill for payment which I'll be doing...so we'll see.
Is there any roadside assistance that typically does do roadside repairs? without all the hassle?
