Called Good Sam's the other day to get a quote on insurance for our fifth wheel trailer and after talking to an agent for about an hour, he said that he would email me a copy of his quote with the trailer alone and with the truck. Never heard a thing. Other companies responded in as little as two minutes. Guess they are so big they don't need the business....

Jut keep calling until you get the answer you want. Just sayin.

I find it funny you use Direct TV which IMO is a horrid customer Service company to compare to Good Sam or perhaps it was the proverbial Freudian slip.By the way the OP is complaining he got NO ANSWER in writing after being on the phone for an hour. He did not say he did not like the answer he just wants confirmation of the answer

First contact IS what determines whether or not to do business with a company.They need my business not the other way around......I can go elsewhere.So YES that first contact better be on the ball. They are representing the company and judgement will be made on that first impression Bad customer service, lack of follow thru etc and I move on.....done.

Is there a possibility that the agent might have mis-understood your email address? Or could the email be sitting in your Junk folder? Usually those agents are all to happy to get a quotation to you.

I have had very good service from Direct TV. Every time I've called them for any reason they've been on the ball and got me up and going. ( no, I don't have stock in Direct TV!)

Nope. Used Direct TV as the premier company for poor customer service, not as a comparison.
