Thank you Good Sam

Need to post this as there are so many negative comments about GS RS. Yesterday my pickup broke down along hwy 108 heading to Sonora. I have Good Sam rs so I called then for assistance. Prompt answer to the call, professional agent asked if we were in a safe location. When I said I thought so on the shoulder of the hwy, she stated they do not consider that safe and would get someone dispatched quickly. Spend time ascertaining my location and after some confusion on my part dispatched a truck. After about 1 hour called to check if truck had arrived, it had not, again due to my poor directions. Agent contacted tow company while keeping me on the line, got my location corrected and truck showed up with in ten minutes. He was close by looking for me.
They would tow me to nearest repair facility but I wanted to go close to ho,e. I paid the difference which I considered more than reasonable and brought us home. I was not going to renew because of the bad reviews but will renew GS today, even at the $119, it's a bargain.
Thank you Good Sam for good service.

With Coach-Net I never had to pay. Even when they brought me my rig and truck to a CG and then the next day the truck over 20 mi. for repair. Just yeaterday my truck broke down and they towed it 17 miles to the facility I asked for. They came with-in an hour or less.

Coach Net to the rescue, broke down TV pulling 35ft 5W just east of Hesperus, CO. Closest tow available to handle the job was Durango, CO. They sent tow truck & 1 Ton dully for the 5W and closest repair was Cortez, CO. Truck to shop & 5W to park, the driver had me sign the bill, done. I asked about what it would have cost and was told 900-950, I paid nothing. Yes the policy is a little more but it covers more and never an issue when calling, are you in a safe place? Two flats in 5 years same thing, once I asked if I needed to sign and driver said no I have already been paid. Try and find a Coach net complaint, I'm sure there are some but few and far between.
  • Thanks for sharing and the complements.

I bought all of the GS services for these type of emergencies and I'm comforted that they are indeed responsive.

I just hope that their Service Department will be the same appreciating that if we are out of town, we should be given priority for repairs to be back on the road and on the way again.

Sadly, they were not on two occasions I needed their services. They seem to not understand the meaning of emergency and would schedule you for repairs appointment several weeks from that date you call them.
  • X1! on GS roadside assistance program. Have had a few issues but they ended up being the result of miscommunication.and or experienced agents at GS lacking appropriate training and giving wrong information. Recently I had to pull into a Ca. state rest area with my 5th wheel due to clutch not working.
GS agent told me because I was not right on the side of the road on I-5, GS would only tow my truck or 5th wheel but NOT both. I called a local tow truck who towed both to my home town 40 miles away. $850. I called GS customer service and talked with a supervisor who said " the agent was totally wrong". He sent me a claim form and within 1 week I had a check for $850 and an apology. He said he would meet with the agent and would retrain her or terminate her.:):):) A couple of my tows required the trailer to be loaded on a flatbed trailer due to rear springs breaking. 1 tow was 40 miles to a service center, GS paid for the $1250 tow and nothing out my pocket:):):)
