We love Good Sam!

I just wanted to drop a positive note about Good Sam. We have an older RV (28 years old) and while it has been pretty reliable we have been stuck a few times. Once when we pulled into Disney World the heater core blew. Good Sam was able to put us in touch with a mobile RV mechanic who came out and bypassed the core until we could get home to our home mechanic for a permanent fix (that was a cold ride home! :) ).

Another time our fuel pump burned up and Good Sam got us towed to a repair shop. Another time our alternator died and again Good Sam got us towed to a repair shop.

Every time we've been stuck on the side of the road Good Sam has come through for us. It's worth every penny. I would not go out on the road in an RV without Good Sam insurance.

  • Sounds like a Google search would have been about as useful. All they did was give you a phone number of a machanic.


    True, but the thing I liked about using Good Sam is they handled it all for me. It was like having a secretary do the leg-work of finding a mobile mechanic for me. It was very nice. Also I hate using the internet on my phone, and at the time Disney did not have wifi in Fort Wilderness.

    But the biggest benefit is the 3 times they've had to tow us to a repair shop. Once the fuel pump relays burned up (this was a precursor to the pump itself burning up), the second time was when the fuel pump burned up, and the last time was when the alternator died.

    I've had similar experiences with their roadside support. They've come through every time.
