This quote is for $17354 a year!
You are asking "What did you do to get this kind of premium rate?"

Well the short answer is "I don't know!" I have had insurance with Geico for over 15 years with NO tickets and one claim 4 years ago. And the one claim I had was a no fault claim that someone else did to my wife's car. Now Geico tells me I had a claim in April 2015 so they increased my rates by 271% as of 7/7/2015. My big crime was I backed into a mail box post at a friend's driveway. About $1600 claim.
I have been checking other companies and they all want to do the same. Good Sam is the highest of them all with $17354 per year. Geico wants $8122 per year and Progressive wants $6564 per year and that's just my two cars - no RV coverage.
I do have a firm quote from Farmers for $4204 per year for my 2013 Dodge 2500 Ram and 2012 GMC Arcadia and my 2015 Silverback fifth wheel. Can you even imagine paying $1649 a month for auto insurance????? In five years the insurance would cost me $86,770!!!!
What is going on with Good Sam???? I am a member and I have a loan for my RV from Good Sam. Should I throw my Good Sam card in the trash?????

The trailer is not the problem, it is still about $800 for 6 months, it's the 2013 Dodge 2500 Ram and the 2012 GMC Arcadia

$1600 a year would be a BIG problem for me as my yearly bill for our RV and two trucks is under $1300.

You may do much better on the trailer by going to a company that specializes in RV policies ONLY.

Contact Gilbert RV Insurance. They do not actually write insurance, but are brokers representing several specialty companies. (www.gilbertrvinsuance.com)

  • This is a troll or some kind of spam. Same post in another category with different amounts. Let it be.

Maybe it's the state of Texas. For 2 vehicles per year we are paying a bit over 1300.00-both about 10 years old and we do have good credit scores and no claims against the ins. Also, our home is with the same ins. co., and I am a senior. We do not have the 5'ver with the same ins. co. What is your deductible--if it is low your premium will be high. Lars

Good old Texas Insurance Commission. They set MAX that insurance companies can charge and insurance companies are happy cause they charge the MAX

When we full timed our domicile state was SD.
Full Timers Insurance thru National Interstate (same type/coverage as homeowners policy PLUS extras) and full coverage on truck.....$1600/year ($900/RV & $700/truck

We check into 'moving' to TX and what our insurance would be. Same company, same coverages, same deductibles ($500)
5vr insurance (homeowners type) increased by 50% ($1350/yr)
    Truck insurance increase 100% ($1400/yr)
Total.....$2750----------$1150/yr. increase just because of TX address

My 32 foot TT did not cost much more than this .. :h
  • How many posts are you going to make?

Not happy with the premium buy some where else. They gave you the rate your choice is pay it or walk. THIS IS THE FREE ENTERPRISE SYSTEM everyone talks about but complains about when it affects them

You seem to be a poor risk

Only one other thought here since we also had a jump in premium with a small accident. Know they also check credit score. Does not hurt to check yours.

Funny I just received my credit score last Thursday.
    Mine was 735.
    My DW was 760.
She is still laughing at me.
