I'm a bit confused how you handle your 10/10/10 rating system if a park gets an "N/A" for its restrooms. I assume this means that the park can't get a "10" in the first rating category because it doesn't have a "complete set" of facilities? Giving it a "10" would seem to violate the completeness concept and would lead to questions such as "can a park that doesn't have a swimming pool get a "10" and claim it should be rated N/A for its pool?"

The second rating category would have to be N/A if there are no restrooms. And the third category would be unaffected.

So if my logic is correct, the best rating that a park without restrooms can achieve is 9/(N/A)/10. Is this a correct assumption?

When I looked online (good sam page) for this campground, there was no middle number.

Thank you wbwood, looks like we have a problem with that information transmitting to the website. We'll look into the problem so that the NA is reflected.

The first rating is for Campground & RV Parks which includes the sites and services the park provides; such as roads, hook-ups, swimming, laundry, etc. Restrooms are not included in the first rating, and instead we gave them their own separate rating category. Since Restrooms & Showers are not included in the first category,Campground & RV Parks, a park can achieve a 10/NA/10 rating without having restrooms.

For a complete review of what is rated in each category, please refer to the 2014 Good Sam RV Travel Guide & Campground Directory. We've listed the Rating Form on pages 161-163. This is the form used by the Good Sam Consultant teams when they inspect and review parks.

I been at campgrounds where they turned off all the water and locked the bathrooms for repairs. health laws required they provide porta potties and wash stations or face penalties and fines.

In California this does not surprise me. Stuff happens and some times parks have to shut the water off. I have personally seen RVers run over the water supply. And yes when the water gos off the bath and laundry gets locked, standard procedure.

As to bathrooms, I have a nice one on board my RV. Never going to see me walk past my restroom to go to one in the park. Do not care how clean and convenient you think they are.

To Good Sam network, it was Greers Pine Shadow RV park.

We have seen several in our travels but they usually say so on their website. They usually say something like "fully self contained RV's only"

There are plenty of excellent RV parks that have no bathroom facilities and restrict their customers to those with fully contained RVs. IMHO there is nothing wrong with this as long as they make the fact known. We never use the bathroom or showers at parks and there are many others like us. It should have nothing to do with how a park is rated by Good Sam or RVParkReviews.
