When to join GS?

I am in the market for a motorhome. When is the right time to join Good Sam Club so that I can evaluate insurance, finance offerings, etc?

Opinion.. for what "Elite" will do for you. I have and elite membership but you have to take it to a camping world service that knows something. Do not try to use it in Longmont Colorado... they are clueless.

What does an elite membership and service at a camping world have to do with each other? Elite membership does not give you service. It just gives you more discounts. Yes, you get the discounts at cw, but you do not have to use camping world for service. You can contact your manufacturer and if you are still under warranty, they will tell you where you can receive service other than a camping world.
  • I wouldn't join until you have an RV. You will not recieve much benefit of it without an RV.
  • Thank you, all,,,, for the input. I guess I don't actually have to own an RV yet to join. So I will do so.

No doubt Camping World would be happy to sell them a MH. :B

To answer the question mikes47 asked; I would say don't over think the issue. If you are considering joining, do it, it isn't a huge amount of money.

Call customer service and see if any of the various discounts would work for you. The have programs for veterans, and others.

    Hi mikes47,

Since you're in the market for a motorhome, if you PM me your contact info I'd be happy to pass along and ask someone from the dealership side to contact you to discuss.

Yes, if you purchase an RV from Camping World you receive a 3-year Good Sam Club Elite membership. The Elite level is the highest level of membership benefits--you can read more here.

    Sincerely,
    Good Sam Club Team
  • If you stay one night at a GS RV park you get a GS discount. Most parks will give same discount if staying several nights without GS membership. When I wasn't a GS member for about 8 years my insurance rates didn't change. All vehicles are insured not just RV. Not sure I'd buy any RV at CW and be tied into their service. I am a GS member.
  • Respectfully disagree! Get a Life membership now & never pay dues again. It is beyond worth it!

  • Being a member should not change anything in the RV purchase process. If you do make your purchase from a CW dealer you should be given a three year elite Good Same membership. Good luck.
