All,I have been a Good Sam Roadside member ever since I got my RV, over 2 years. I have never used that service for my RV. However, I have used it for my family with cars for local tows (2 or 3 in last 2 years).One use for an RV I would expect to be $100-$200 each. One local tow for a family car is about $50.Good Sam has decided to cancel my membership because I was above their normal cost per member per year.If you have insurance, there are years that are high and years that are low. There are clients that are high and clients that are low. That the definition of insurance.I do not understand why I was canceled because I used then 2 times in two years for approx $50 each. I do not remember what my contract limits were, however, the reason I was canceled was not due to exceeding limits. I would love to get Good Sam back. I did not have a bad experience (other than they cancelled me).Can someone please explain this better. I got the letter and called and spoke to a rep who both said the same thing. I was above the normal cost for an average user.

Did you forget to send in a premium payment? Maybe not such a stupid response to your post....We made a payment on our trailer a few months ago (sent by mail as this bank will not set up an automatic payment unless you have a checking account with them, and you cannot pay on-line either). So we send by mail. A few days later, we get the nasty gram that we've missed the payment. Wanted to pay over the phone too, nope! Had to be mail. I got completely mad at this point and sent another payment by registered letter. They got that one, but I still had to pay late fees. By the way, that original check NEVER turned up ... anywhere! AND yes, I did mail it!

Do a search here on the forum seems to be a common practice of GS ERS.

More and more we are seeing posts about Good Sam cancelling people for 2 service calls no matter how long you've been a member. :R

Just had a friend got his GSRA canceled. He was a member for 13 years, this past year he used it 3 times. Upon talking to the folks he like others were told the cost was to high.

Went to AAA yesterday for passport pictures and ask them what the call limit was before being canceled. I was told 4 calls per member so if husband and wife were members it would be 8 calls per year.

I have been a great supporter of GSRA but know I am thinking they are becoming more about the money. Marcus needs to step into this problem area and fix his company

Seems from another post here they want your money but cancel you if you need the service you paid for. Your $50.00 tow bill is also spot on around here.

The tow cost for an RV is completely different than the cost to tow a standard passenger vehicle. For example, I need a medium duty wrecker to tow my clipper - the standard rate in my area (on a weekend/holiday) for that truck is about $175/hour.

In the case of the OP, he has had GSRA for 2 years and has had "2 or 3 tows" during that time.

I have learned that the longer you wait to initially use insurance, the better your odds that they won't cancel you. If you use your insurance within the first two years of having it, they will see you as a greater liability. Most people who claim soon after getting insurance are more likely to make regular claims.

That's not to say the OP should have been cancelled, but just an explanation of why companies work that way.

I had my van towed a month ago 15 mile tow $56 so $50 tow is spot on. Look at it this way they thre a fit over spending $100 imagine if you really needed it and they got their panties in a wad and did not want to pay. Run now!

Not sure where you're getting these numbers from but your are way off. $50 does not even pay for the tow truck to leave the garage.

I broke down and needed a 35 mile tow back to my house; Total elapsed time from the tow truck and operators was 4 hours (it was pouring down rain and took a while to hook everything up). I saw the bill that went to the Towing Service - $650.

I would go somewhere else and refinance. There are banks/credit unions that want your business.
