Like last month I was ordering a bunch at Home Depot so I get the coupon out but it is expired. But I need the stuff so I make the order. A week after delivery I get the next set of coupons. Disappointing, yes. Immoral or unfair, No. Could have saved a couple hundred $$.time2roll wrote:
Is that moral and unfair that next week you pay the full listed price?
Yes. :)- toedtoesExplorer IIIThis is standard operating procedure for service products. The fact is, giving you (the longtime customer) a discount doesn't increase their bottom line. Signing up new customers, even at a discount, does increase their bottom line.
This is why I never use the "new customer pricing" as a reason to go with a company. Instead, I use the regular rates. If the regular rate is too high, then I go elsewhere. - deprivedExplorer

That doesn't mean it's moral or fair.
I run several small businesses and I can't imagine doing something like that.

Up to the consumer to ask the renewal rate up front before deciding to go forward. No reason to be blind sided.
Does your business ever issue any discounts as part of marketing?- deprivedExplorer

Like renting an apartment and getting a free month rent to move in. The next year the landlord will have the audacity to expect all 12 months to be paid.
I don't get it. Why is my membership renewal more expensive than just getting a new membership? Isn't this unfair to existing, loyal customers?
Please explain.
Many deals like this for new customers. Normal and ordinary.
