Why keep soliciting...

About every 2 weeks we get an offer for roadside assistance or travel assistance or what ever. We currently have "Platinum complete roadside assistance" and "extended service plan" and a GS credit card. There is nothing else to buy or upgrade to. Why not check your database before soliciting folks who already have the service. Today it was travel assist again. For fun I'd like to accept the offer to see what would happen.

  • For about the first five years of my lifetime membership I got renewal notices on a regular basis. After a bunch of phone calls it stopped and has not returned. Now I just get renewal notices for services I do not have but they are printed on good paper for the compost pile so I do not complain about them.
  • YUP, the calls, and last year they started doing TEXT messages which I have now learned to BLOCK them all, and still, they keep calls following.

    I guess it takes one SUCKER to generate another 1000 or more telemarketing calls from out of the country. Thousands of dollars following out of the USA to folks making easy calls.

    Now I understand why OLD-man become grumpy, it's all the FREE Money folks keep asking for.

    OH man don't get me started or I'll jump into Flag and country. I TAKE all ADVERTIZING CALLS as an attack on the American LIFE and DON'T Answer or reply, then have fun BLOCKING CALLS and TEXT messaging advertisements.

  • If CW’s mail solicitations didn’t work, they would stop. If it was economical to sift out those with the service CW would do it. It’s not a random operation.
  • Why would they need the account number to stop the solicitation?
    How about stop it for all members with an active contract? :R

    Or is this predatory solicitation?
  • Mmmm, if customer service can change a member's mail preferences, I wonder if there's a way for a member to log in online and change his own preferences? Wouldn't that be a fine convenience! :)

  • Do you also get the renew now deals mailers, 4 months before your renewal date? I used to get them, so I signed up for 5 years to reduce the amount of paper/postal mail I used to get. Worked like a charm. Wait a minute.......:S :W:R
