Year Model VS Chassis year

If you purchase a policy from GS be careful about the year model you give. I baught my 2003 Model MH in NY (I have a NY State official document that says this) in 2002 that was built on a 2002 chassis. I called GS about this after I baught a policy online and gave a 2003 Model Year. Good thing I called because they said they classify it as 2002 and so I paid an extra $150 to make sure I was covered. If I had not, they could have turned down any claim.

Now they emailed and said to just make sure all my responsibilities (like service documentations) are met and "relax" they will take care of the rest.

I'm getting kind of scared.

  • The model year of any vehicle manufactured in the United States or for sale in the United States indicates the model year using the 10th character of the VIN. If your coach is a 2012, then the 10th character on the origination documentation/registration will be a C. If it's a 2013, the 10th character will be a D.

Yeah...mine says 2013 on the registration. Nothing about what year the chasis was built on. Heck it might of been built in 2012, but it's considered a 2013. Just like cars you buy in the fall are usually modeled for the next year (except leftovers).
