08 V-10 and Banks Power System

My new to me 08 Bounder 33ft came with the Banks Power System, whole kit from air inlet to the exhaust going out the side, however searching on this forum many say its a waste of money for the newer V-10, the salesman told me he could tell it had more power from stock since he drives a lot of motorhomes for his job, the system never cost me a penny since the 1st owner did the upgrade and no price was added to motorhome at time of sale.

However I will have to say it has a ton of power, climbs hills here in the West like its a flat road, never own a V-10 motorhome, just a small 26ft with the GM 8.1, so I have no comparison but it weights 5000lbs more than my older 02 motorhome but has tons more power.

So has anyone installed this system on your newer V-10 and did it increase power or just made your wallet lighter..

    Thanks for your reply "Tenn TechMan". That is the info that I was looking for. I will now proceed with programming ECM. This tune is suppose to add another 25HP at the wheels (which is nice) and adjusts the shift patterns of the transmission. The shift pattern change is what I needed. Again thanks for your reply, Jimbo in Calgary

    P.S. I might never have tried improving the tune on my ECM, but for the fact that a fellow I talked to when out camping told me about the tuner he hooked up to his new chev 3/4 ton pulling a 25 ' trailer. Increased MPG and HP. He has it installed on his other trucks too and was very happy with it.

    That's right, it will go back to stock (or whatever was flashed into the ECU if not stock). Just be sure the key is out of the ignition any time you are plugging/unplugging a chip directly from the ECU.

    Be careful with doing that, many reasons as why, what if you ever moved to another state that had inspections, what if you ever sold it or traded it in, dealer might not like the emissions removed also sensors are located in the exhaust and sometimes before and after the catalytic converter, removing all that can cause other issues..

    I have a 2008 Itasca Sunrise 32 and I put the full Banks Power Pack system on it about 1 1/2 years ago. It did make a big difference in power and the reprogramming make it shift better. I think it was worth the money and am very happy with it.

    I had my Banks system thrown in when I bought my MH because I preferred the Chevy after a test drive (but I'm glad I went with the Ford). The headers are longer on the Banks so, even if there isn't a power increase, that's an improvement. I never drove mine without the Banks so I can't compare power. It climbs well and it just passed smog too.

    Man that Banks programmer is a lot to worry about. When my 2006, 362 HP V10 need a new exhaust I'm simply gonna remove that big choke bend at the rear of the engine along with the Catalytic Converter(no inspect in Florida)and install BIG breathin intake, duel exhaust & mufflers.

    If it ain't broke don't fix it I believe you said it ran well so why all the angst over it. Drive it and enjoy it! JMHO Jb
