- buckyExplorer III have the Banks Power Pack on a 5.9 24v Cummins. It added about 100 HP and 280 ft lbs of torque. Hardly disappointing. Even better, it was on the truck when I bought it. I have the receipts from the OO, and it was pricey. About 4 large installed, but he did get ripped on the install by about $800 by a local diesel shop. There are different levels of Banks kits, so not all kits would see the top rating of the Power Pack.
As to a gasser, that's a lot of money for not much gain. There are tuners in the $500 range that would probably do as well. However, towing is not recommended with the higher power tunes. They also require premium fuel in tow mode. - GjacExplorer III

I think what folks are saying is that the older 460's would get 85 HP increase and the newer 30 valve V-10's would only get get 56 HP increase.
I have the Banks Power Pack on my 95 Ford 460. Installed it over 8 years ago. I really enjoy the performance improvement and it has been trouble free. No gain in fuel mileage. By "is it worth it", do you mean payback in $$? NO pay back. If you see the big ol grin on my face when I throttle-up, then it's worth it!
The newer engines get about the same gain in performance as my old 460. See Banks dyno results for yourself. Not sure why all the nay Sayers down play Banks on the newer engines. The dyno doesn't lie.

Richard - trop-a-calExplorerOlder Chevy non Vortec yes, 1996 and newer no. You also can reflash your computer to better shifting points. But let's face it just with cheaper fuel prices you now get more MPG per Dollar. About 46 cents per mile US/US. Or about 2.15 miles per US dollar, and gallon.
- n7bsnExplorerOlder engines, ie Ford 460 V-8, almost certainly.
Newer engines, ie Ford V10, probably not. - C_SchomerExplorerFrom what guys have told me, their gasser stuff is like their diesel stuff. Shop and piece your system together and it's a LOT cheaper. I've tried Banks on a diesel and it was VERY disappointing, especially the small power increase for the dollar. Craig
- donn0128Explorer IIDozens of pages on Banks stuff. Lots of money for really marginal results. Lighten your load will probably gain you as much and thats free.
- Thunder_MountaiExplorer IIThere have been many threads on the Banks subject. Would be nice to know about your rig and exactly why you are considering purchasing the Banks. If you would share that, you would probably get better answers.
Everyone I've talked to who has the system seems happy except for the price. You will never recover the cost of the system in increased mileage unless you drive it till the wheels fall off. But the increase in power is good especially if you drive in the mountains.
