'$1,100. for combustion chamber 98 Suncruiser. Too much??'

Suburban furnace will ignite then cut off and starts blowing cold air. Service tech says need combustion chamber. Also, exhaust pipe is rusted out. Is $1,100 a reasonable price for a replacement?

By searching on Ebay and putting a min price of $260 you will get 150 possibilities. Only a couple more than $1K and most in the $400 to 700 range.
  • Call or email Suburban, give them your model number and ask them for a suitable replacement.
  • I got one from Colaw's RV salvage a few years back for under 200.00. When it arrived it had been pulled from a totalled RV, upon examination it had never been used. Do ask if you order from Colaw's that they send you the wiring connectors for it. When mine came the connector was pinned in a different configuration and it took me several blown fuses to figure it out and get it going.
I would not use that tech again, sounds like trying to take advantage of you.
  • Scott, where would I find a new one? Tech says it's obsolete and need an after market.
