Winnebago Suncruiser

Our new 38Q made it to the dealer yesterday. We will take possession next Monday. We of course had to go to Camping World to check it out. It is a mystery how it will look when you order and select all the different tones and colors and you hope you coordinated well and that the brochures were somewhat true. We love it. All worked well. When we looked at this unit for the first time with slides in we were impressed that it is quite livable. Interesting that when we ordered it was an Itasca but as part of the phaseout the outside says Winnebago Suncruiser. I will keep you posted on our progress. Our 6th Winnebago in 35 years. Started with a Centauri in 1981-82. Second one made by Winnebago.

I don't understand what you mean by "phaseout". As far as I know Winnebago and Itasca are two separate brands built by Winnebago Industries. The Suncruiser has always been an Itasca product. In the last several years it has been identical to the Winnebago Sdventurer. Are you telling us one or the other brand (or model) is being phased out?

I did notice that when I clicked on the Itasca Suncruiser in the Itasca lineup the photo of the unit definitely has the word "Winnebago" across the front.
  • Yes, Itasca is being dropped. When I ordered it was Itasca and when it arrived it says Winnebago. I was still able to use the Itasca interior colors which were nearly the same as the Adventurer.
  • My understanding is they become Winnebago as the number of Itasca dealers has been declining.
  • This is news to me too. I wonder if they are still going to keep all the sister models. What's the point of having an Adventurer and a Suncruiser? Just different colors? Maybe they will phase out one of each of the twin models.
  • I believe Itasca models will be gone in two years, it appears the Itasca name is already replaced.
