I have a 1990 Roadtrek but it doesn't have a generator. I'm told I can add a trailer hitch so that I can carry my own generator. Is that true or is there a way to run my roof A/C another way.

You want to boondock? Like others have said, get a hitch cargo carrier, get a
good lock to lock the carrier onto the hitch and chains and lock to secure the generator. Now I would highly recommend a
tri-fuel Yamaha generator. I have a 20 gallon propane tank, but you can put a larger tank on the hitch.
